El pie del niño necesita el seguimiento más exhaustivo que se le pueda proporcionar, está en continuo cambio y crecimiento y el tratamiento debe crecer y evolucionar con el niño. Muchos de los problemas posturales de los niños vienen por un problema en los pies, si corregimos pronto estos problemas de los pies conseguiremos que el problema postural no se estructure.

¿Que problemas de los pies tienen mas incidencia de en los niños?

En nuestra consulta vemos principalmente los siguientes problemas:

  • Papilomas o verrugas plantares. Es una infección vírica producida por el virus del papiloma humano que produce una lesión con forma de verruga o plana con puntos en el interior. Estos problemas tienen mas incidencia en los niños y adolescentes por que sus sistema inmune aún no tiene defensas para este tipo de virus. Es importante el diagnóstico y tratamiento precoz ya que de lo contrario la lesión puede hacerse mas grande y extenderse a otras localizaciones.
  • Pies valgos. Muchos niños tienen demasiada laxitud en los ligamentos de su aparato locomotor y esto hace que los pies se metan hacia dentro o se derrumbe el arco del pie. Hay casos en los que podemos esperar la evolución y otros en los que es importante actuar lo antes posible. Como norma general antes de los 3 años no comenzamos ningún tipo de tratamiento ortésico.

  • Trastornos posturales producidos por la pisada. Existen niños que tienen un pie mucho mas vencido que otro y esto les provoca un trastorno postural evidente. En estos casos es importante empezar el tratamiento cuanto antes, mas que por el pie por el resto del aparato locomotor.

  • Alteraciones en la posición del los dedos (dedos montados). En los niños estas deformidades tienen una respuesta al tratamiento mucho más rápida que en adultos ya que las estructuras son mucho mas flexibles. En estos casos se suelen utilizar tratamiento con siliconas de diferentes densidades que consiguen corregir la deformidad del dedo y evitan una posterior intervención quirúrgica.silicona para dedos.   • Meter los pies hacia dentro. En estos casos es importante el diagnóstico correcto por el podólogo, la clave puede estar en la cadera, en la tibia o en el pie. Según los casos los tratamientos son muy dispares, desde no necesitar tratamiento hasta necesitar instaurarlo l0 antes posible. En cualquier caso es necesario realizar una exploración biomecánica al niño para conseguir un diagnóstico certero.
